Easter

Easter started Saturday night for us, we made Rice Krispie treat nests and then the girls left them by their beds and the Easter Bunny filled them with candy during the night. The girls were a little too young to make the nests but they had fun playing with the treats. Then I forgot to take pictures of the final products and we ate the evidence.
Licking the spoon was much better than making the nests
The Boys and Girls Club by Alyssa's school had an Easter party that we went to Sunday morning. They separated the kids into age groups which took a little longer but made the hunts much nicer. They also had a free breakfast and then they invited us to their Easter service, but we went to our ward instead.

Here is Alyssa sitting very lady like.

Candy please?
Bouncy houses are always fun.
After church we hid eggs in our backyard, they were empty eggs but the girls didn't care, we took turns being the Easter Bunny then their friends came over and they played outside the rest of the day. It was beautiful weather, finally, so we had a great time outside and Caleb even barbecued.
Taking pictures of easter egg hunts is difficult because they always turn their backs to me when they pick up the eggs

After dinner we dyed some eggs, I tried a few different techniques I read about online but they were more difficult and messy than I thought and not worth the effort.

recent pics

Last weekend Caleb's battalion had an Easter party it was rainy and cold but they had free food, face paint, and an egg hunt so it turned out pretty fun. They even had a bouncy house but it turned into more of a swimming pool so no one used it. Alyssa got a bunny face, here she is pretending to be a bunny.Megan got a purple flower.
The girls had a sleep over the other night and they were dressed up for about 90% of the time. Caleb missed all of the fun because he had to stay up all night to protect the barracks in case of attack. (I think it is really dumb but he only has to do it every few months)

We also got an Easter package from grandma and grandpa Hamblin which is always funAlyssa participated in a soccer camp during spring break, she is excited about soccer and I can't really figure out why but I'm glad she likes to try new things.

Enjoying a pizza party at the end of the camp.

I signed Megan up for a dance class that starts in a few weeks but she is excited about soccer while Alyssa did it.

Cousin Visit

My Sister-in-Law Sarah and her four kids came up to spend a few day with us. We also went to Portland and went to the Saturday's Market and saw Hunger Games together (which was awesome) The cousins had a great time playing together and the adults had fun relaxing together (and staying up till midnight playing a hilarious game of dominoes). I always mean to take more pictures than actually end up on the camera, but here are a few that I took at the park.
Cheese ball Julia
Cutie pie Jenna, Alyssa loved to sit in front of her and make her laugh
Miles
Megan and Noah (Dora and Diego)
Three pirates

Alyssa wasn't feeling great for part of the weekend, but she refused to admit it. Even when she fell asleep on the couch and Caleb picked her up to take her to her room she mumbled, "I'm not sick..."

Roller Rink

There is a roller rink on base that only charges a dollar on Wednesdays, and Alyssa has half days from school every other Wednesday so we try to go skating once a month. Alyssa is getting a lot better at balancing. She doesn't have the flow down yet, but she can get some speed going.

Megan wears walker skates that don't roll but she can't even stand up if she has on roller skates. She gets tired after the first hour of skating but enjoys it for a while. She asks me why I don't wear skates when we go and I told her I would next times, hopefully she forgets by then.
Caleb was gone for a week and so I got my craft on! I made this wreath for our door. Then I painted some wooden eggs and did some cross stitching. I got to craft while he got to play soldier in the mountains with a bunch of stinky boys, we were both happy.
Megan wanted to hold my hand the whole time but I let her go for a minute to video so she isn't moving but dancing is cute too.

Valentine Day

Here are some pictures of my Valentines this year. Of course my little sweeties.
Got to love a man in uniform, he wasn't very excited to take the picture, he had already take off his tie and was halfway out of his coat before I told him I wanted to take the picture.
Hoo's your Valentine? I made this cute paper owl as part of my Valentine decor, it is cheap and corny but it makes me happy.

Soft Kitty

Megan and Chloe have been getting along better, she use to run up and yell 'HI KITTY" right in her face, which not surprisingly Chloe did not like. Now Chloe will choose to sit with Megan sometimes and Megan loves to snuggle with her.
This song is from a show called 'Big Bang Theory' if you are not a fan of the show...you should be.

More snow!

More snow days! It Alyssa hasn't got to school all week and I don't think she will go tomorrow, but we have had a lot of fun playing in the snow because we know it won't last long. Last night it rained and not all the snow is iced over so it is not as much fun and all the trees that were heavy with snow are breaking from being frozen. one hit our roof last night, but I don't think there was any damage.
I decided to take advantage of the snow and take some Christmas pictures in January, the time line won't matter in the scrapbook.

Three little stinkers all in a row.
Caleb went behind the tree and shook it so the snow fell down on the girls, I was hoping it would fall on their heads more.
We made a giant snowman in our yard, Caleb and I had to put the middle ball on a folding chair and lift it because it was so heavy.
